By 1981 The arrival of The Origional Saint  night club, the onset of the AIDS crisis, and the more conservative and restrictive political, sociological and legal environment of the 1980s meant the end of the by then aging facility used to host the 12 West parties as well as the era of Classic Disco. The majority of the remaining members deserted the once famous venue and It was sold to become the River Club operated by Steve Cohn and Sam Haddad.

But both were soon to be lost in the crisis and their club stood only another 2 years before the wrecking ball claimed it.

Back then, the end of the 12 West era was just one more sign of the changing times. "Disco Sucks" cried mainstream America. But the human appreciation for history, sociology and nostalgia has taken it's revenge on those who proclaimed "Disco is Dead" and even today, the night is filled with new venues, new sounds and new sights while on the internet the disco ball still spins at a wonderful multitude of web sites. Despite all the world can dish out there is still a dance tribe attitude out there in many forms and there are still many who remember the name and the legend of;
